Summer Fixtures 2008
The July Course resides alongside the National Stud on the approach to the town and is home to all Newmarket’s summer race meetings. From mid-June to the end of August it provides the perfect setting for a fantastic day’s racing thanks to its unique rustic charm.
Open air bars, the sun dappling through the trees and the thatched roofed buildings make up the character of this distinctive and much loved course.

The Newmarket Nights’ Series has taken Friday night entertainment to a new level. These legendary evenings offer great racing action followed by a live concert by a popular band or artist. The racing gets under way early evening and concludes as night falls, immediately followed by a superb open-air concert. A great night out for family, friends, clients and colleagues. The bars remain open until the conclusion of the concert. 2007 was the 20th anniversary of Newmarket Nights and saw the best line up ever with acts such as Madness, Sugababes, Pert Shop Boys and Wet Wet Wet.

Enjoy a feast of fantastic racing, festival fashion and fun at this superb summer event. On Wednesday 9th July, the festival presents a selection of live classical music performances before, between and after the racing. Out on the track, look out for some scintillating performances in the feature race of the day, The UAE Hydra Properties Falmouth Stakes.
The fashon focus of the festival will begin on day one as each day will play host to its own best dressed competition. Final details will be announced nearer the time.
Hats are sure to be out in force on Lanson Ladies’ Day,Thursday 10th July, when there will be a prize for the Best Dressed Lady.
The final day, Friday 11th July, sees the fashion focus still in the spotlight, whilst the racing action doesn’t get any hotter than this in the Darley July Cup, the world’s fastest thoroughbreds compete for glory and the champion sprinter’s crown!
This is English summertime at its very best. Make sure you are part of it.

The July Course is a fantastic venue for a summer afternoon in the countryside with the family. The very special charm that the July Course exudes makes the experience more than just a day at the races and with plenty of family-friendly weekend days to choose from, there’s no excuse for not treating yourselves to a fun day out this summer!

The NSPCC Family Race Day has a whole host of extra entertainments and is a great way to spend a summer’s afternoon with the family whilst, at the same time, contributing to the valuable work of the NSPCC. Book in advance for NSPCC Race Day and at least £2 of your ticket price will go to support the NSPCC.
Saturday 16th August - The Newmarket Experience Day
This summer saturday race day brings a behind the scenes view to the world of racing. Enjoy competitions and exhibitions from the National Horseracing Museum and The National Stud as well as trips to the start and back stage tours which include a visit to the usually off-limits Weighing Room.
This day also features the unique Grey Horse Handicap, restricted to grey horses only.
