Where is Newmarket?

Set on the Suffolk / Cambridgeshire borders, on the outskirts of the town centre and surrounded by training gallops and heathland, the NatWest Rowley Mile Racecourse and July Racecourse are just 12 miles from Cambridge and 60 miles from London.

By Road

The A11 and A14 provide easy access from the major cities of East Anglia and from the M11 and A1 / M1 respectively.

By Rail

By Rail Regular commuter services run from London Kings Cross and Liverpool Street to Cambridge, Stansted Airport and Ipswich where onward connections by rail or road can be made to Newmarket.

Newmarket Racecourses provide a subsidized coach service from Newmarket Town Centre, Cambridge Station and Stansted Airport. See “Coaches” below for details.

By Air

Stansted Airport is approximately 35 minutes drive from the racecourse via the M11 and A11.  Newmarket Racecourses provide a subsidized coach service from Stansted Airport direct on Feature Days and via Cambridge on all other days.

Stansted to Newmarket, Single: £7 per person
Stansted to Newmarket, Return: £12 per person

Daytime Meetings:

Pick up from Stansted Airport at 11.45am
Return Journay leaves 30 minutes after the last race.

Evening Meetings:

Pick up from Stansted Airport at  4pm
Return Journay leaves at approximately 10.45pm.

Coaches - Cambridge

The Racecourse provides a subsidised coach service between Cambridge.

Prices for 2008 have now been confirmed with times due to be confirmed very soon.

Cambridge to Newmarket, Single: £3.50 per person
Cambridge to Newmarket, Return: £6 per person

Newmarket

The racecourse provides a complimentary shuttle service on all race days. The service runs between Newmarket Town Centre and the course starting approximately two hours before the first race with pick ups at Hughes Electrical Store, The Guineas Shopping Centre and Newmarket Railway Station.

Newmarket Railway Station pick ups are timed to coincide with the arrival times of trains from Cambridge and Ipswich. The return journeys from the racecourse commence around 45 minutes before the last race and continue for up to two hours except on the "Newmarket Nights" evening meetings when the service also operates at the conclusion of the post racing concerts.

Newmarket Racecourses and railways have joined forces to offer an exclusive travel and ticket package to all meetings at both racecourses, (with the exception of Newmarket Nights). Board a train at one of the following five stations, Bishops Stortford, Harlow Town, Liverpool Street, Stratford or Tottenham Hale to Stansted Airport where a coach service operates to the racecourse.

The coach departs the racecourse for your return journey approx 30 minutes after the last race.

This ticket and travel offer is a great way to enjoy a day out at the ‘Home of Horseracing’.

The offer includes Standard Class travel and entry to the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure or First Class Travel and entry to the Premier Enclosure.
