SHAMWARI Lodge earned herself a possible trip to Royal Ascot with a gutsy victory in The Football In-running at betinternet.com Handicap.

Jockey Pat Dobbs sat the daughter of Hawk Wing just off the pace before beginning a run up the near-side rail 2f out.

She joined long-time leader Macdillon inside the final furlong and just managed to get her head in front as the line loomed, eventually winning by a neck.

Richard Hannon said of his 10-1 winner: “She’s a nice filly who should hold her own in Listed company.”

There was a thrilling finish to The betinterenet.com Handicap Stakes with the judge unable to spilt 8-1 chance Pravda Street and Hustle a well-backed 5-1 shot.

The Paul Cole-trained Pravda Street made all under Darryll Holland only to be joined on the line by the fast-finishing Hustle who is trained by Gay Kelleway.

Oliver Cole, assistant to his father Paul said: “We always thought he was a nice horse. I think the first-time blinkers today made the difference. He’s a useful horse who has had problems and is now 100 per cent.”

The opening contest on the card, The betinterenet.com E.B.F Maiden Fillies’ Stakes was won by Electric Feel, a newcomer from the Marco Botti yard.

The daughter of Firebreak, a well-backed 15-2 chance, was held up towards the rear by jockey Andrea Atzeni before making steady headway 2f out. She stayed on well to take up the running inside the final furlong, scoring by three-quarters of a length.

Atzeni said: “She may be a small filly but she gives everything and will improve.”

The Best Odds Guaranteed At betinternet.com Handicap was taken by the Peter Chapple-Hyam- trained Open Sesame at odds of 15-2.

The son of Key of Luck always travelled like the likely winner and quickened up impressively under Alan Munro to score by three and a half lengths.

The Mill Reef Club (Antigua) Maiden Fillies’ Stakes went the way of the John Gosden- trained Crimson Ribbon.

A well-bred sister to top-class Bronze Cannon she was sent off the 9-4 favourite and always looked in command for jockey Nicky Mackay. She travelled strongly on the outside and held on under pressure to win by a neck.

It was a red-letter day for apprentice Dominic Toole as Summer Winds gave him his first winner since recently taking his riding licence back out at the seasoned age of 38. Summer Winds landed the Bet On The Play-Offs at betinternet.com handicap.

The final day of Newmarket's latest meeting begins at 1.50pm, tomorrow (Saturday May 16).
