The Feeling 300 x 200

Newmarket Racecourses have now confirmed the sixth act for the 2008 Newmarket Nights line-up. The Feeling will perform live at The July Course on Friday 1st August.

The Feeling are a 5 piece band consisting of Dan Gillespie Sells (Vocals and Guitar), Richard Jones (Bass), Kevin Jeremiah (Guitar), Ciaran Jeremiah (Keyboards) and Paul Stewart (Drums) and  were the No 1 most played band in the UK in 2006. Their four singles “Sewn”, “Fill My Little World”, “Never Be Lonely” and “Love It When You Call” received a total of 97,436 plays, which meant that, on average, a song by The Feeling was played 267 times every day, or once every 5 minutes.

In 2007 they were nominated for a Brit Award, awarded the Ivor Novello Award for “Songwriters of the Year” and were personally selected by Princes William and Harry to perform at the tribute concert for Diana. They enjoyed success on both sides of the Atlantic before returning to the UK in the later part of the year to start recording their long-awaited second album.

Stephen Wallis, Managing Director of Newmarket Racecourses said, “We are very excited to be welcoming The Feeling to the July Course this summer as they are sure to be very popular with the July Course audience. He continued “With the addition of The Feeling to the existing line-up of Boyzone, Bryan Adams, James Morrison and Girls Aloud, we are very excited at the prospect that this year could be the best ever Newmarket Nights.”

The Feeling’s second album titled “Join With Us” was released on 18th February and entered the UK Charts at the Number 1 slot. The first single from the album “I Thought It Was Over” is currently enjoying success in the UK singles chart as well.
