UB40 will not play scheduled Newmarket Nights Gig
Wednesday 6th February, 2008
As a result of the announcement by UB40’s management on Friday 25th January of Ali Campbell’s split from the group, the concert scheduled for Friday 18th July at Newmarket Racecourses has now been cancelled.
Negotiations with agents to secure an alternative act for 18th July are currently underway. In the meantime all customers who have purchased tickets for the UB40 event at Newmarket, will be refunded in full (including booking fee). Customers do not need to do anything in order to obtain their refunds. Refunds will be processed automatically on Friday 8th February.
Stephen Wallis, Managing Director of Newmarket Racecourses said “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused our customers and trust they understand the cancellation was due to matters beyond our control.”
There are currently two acts confirmed for Newmarket Nights. Canadian rock legend, Bryan Adams, will perform on Friday 20th June and James Morrison will perform on Friday 25th July. Tickets for both these events are now on sale. Bookings can be made online or by calling the Newmarket Box Office on 01638 675 500.
