It must be Madness at Newmarket this Summer
Thursday 15th March, 2007

NEWMARKET Racecourses have today announced the third act to be confirmed for the 2007 Newmarket Nights with Q103 line up. Madness will be performing on the July Course stage on Friday 20th July, a Newmarket Night not to be missed.
Formed in London over 30 years ago, Madness achieved most of their success in the 1980’s when, with their self confessed ‘nutty sound’ music, they spent more weeks in the UK charts than any other artist. Between 1979 and 1988, Madness released 25 singles and eight albums and were one of Britain’s most successful artists.
After the original seven members reformed in 1992, Madness have released a new album, embarked on a UK tour and were the inspiration for the West End Musical, Our House.
On March the 5th 2007, Madness released their new single, Sorry, with a version featuring UK underground rapping duo Sway DaSafo and Baby Blue. The band brought it out via their own label, Lucky Seven Records and it entered the UK chart at No.23 on Sunday 11th March, their highest UK chart single entry since 1999's Lovestruck.
Lisa Hancock, Managing Director of Newmarket Racecourses said, “Madness have been on our wish list for a number of years and we are delighted to have finally secured them for 2007. They are an immensely popular band and I am sure they will have the Nights crowd in full voice on July 20th”
