As you can read below – the article for the newspaper - together we are celebrating the ‘Future Champions’ of the Newmarket community in the run-up to the second ‘Dubai Future Champions Day’ in October.
To ensure that we get some very good nominations in the next few weeks, what we would like you to do it to think about which of your friends or family members could be nominated. As you can read, we are seeking ‘Future Champions’ of all ages and from all walks of life. Please let us know who you or a friend or family member could nominate.
The Rowley Mile was the setting last autumn for the inaugural Dubai Future Champions Day, a showcase occasion for the best up-and-coming racehorses in Britain.
The second Future Champions Day will be held on Saturday 13 October – and it will be a day when the whole of the Newmarket community is celebrated with people of every age and from all walks of life.
The Journal and the racecourse would like to hear from readers about their own achievements or those of others. Those achievements can be in any field – in schools, in sports, at work, in charity or voluntary work, helping family or friends, a contribution to the community or good citizenship.
And, remember, age is no barrier. Newmarket’s Future Champions are young and old alike!
Every person, adults and children, who is nominated will receive a complimentary adult admission ticket (under 18s are admitted free of charge already) to Dubai Future Champions Day when there will be a parade on the racecourse. Please note that all under 18s need to be accompanied at the racecourse by an adult.
Each month, the racecourse and newspaper will choose from the nominations a ‘Newmarket Future Champion of the Month’ who will receive a memento in a presentation and then enjoy a VIP day out for four people at Dubai Future Champions Day on Saturday 13 October. From those monthly winners, the ‘Newmarket Future Champion of 2012’ will be chosen and announced on Future Champions Day. The overall winner will receive a choice of either an i-Pad or two annual badges to Newmarket Racecourses for 2013 (adult or young person).
