How do we get to Newmarket?

Can I park at the racecourse?

Car Parking

Both courses offer ample free car parking with preferential parking available in the Premier Car Park at a charge of £5 per car, bookable in advance or payable on the day, subject to availability. Free preferential parking areas are provided near the entrances for Blue Badge Holders.

Coach Parking

Coach parking is free on completion of a Coach Security Pass available on arrival in the Coach Park.

Buggy Shuttle Service

For racegoers requiring transfers from and to the car parks to the racecourse entrances, a chauffeured golf buggy service is now available. Please alert the Car Park attendant on arrival in the car park to summon the buggy and for your return journey please approach any of our racecourse officials who will be pleased to help you.

Coach parking is free on completion of a Coach Security Pass available on arrival in the Coach Park.

What Should I Wear?

Premier Enclosure

A strict dress code operates in The Premier Enclosure. No jeans, denim, trainers, collarless shirts, beachwear, unduly casual or extreme attire will be permitted in the Premier Enclosure.  Jackets and ties are not compulsory but are encouraged.

Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure

The Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure operates a smart / casual dress code.  Smart jeans and tailored shorts are permitted but no bare tops or singlets please.

Ritz Club July Festival

Dressing up is positively encouraged for The Ritz Club July Festival with jackets and ties, hats and smart dress the order of the day.

Special Note to Group Organisers

To save embarrassment, please ensure that all members of your party are aware of the dress code requirements at Newmarket Racecourses. Cards detailing Newmarket's dress code are available for distribution to your guests and will be included with your tickets. 

Children

Please be aware that the Newmarket Racecourse Dress Code will be applied to children over 12 years of age.

What time should I arrive?

The gates open 2 1/2 hours before the first race time on all of our race days. The first race is usually between 1.30pm and 2pm depending on the time of year and number of races.  It is advisable to arrive early for the feature race days to avoid traffic problems.

Can I book in advance?

Yes and you will receive generous discounts for doing so, particularly if you book online where up to 20% discount is offered.

Can I buy tickets on the day?

Yes, provided that the event has not sold out in advance.  You will also miss out on the generous advance booking discounts that are offered. 

What facilities are there for disabled racegoers?

Disabled Access at The NatWest Rowley Mile and The July Course is generally good, with access to good views of racing, the parade ring and facilities.

How many races are there on a particular race day?

Typically, there are 7 races on each race day but there could be 8 if races are divided.

Can I bring a Picnic?

You are welcome to bring your own Picnic to enjoy in the racecourse car parks or in the Rowley / Garden Enclosure or Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure or any part of the racecourse.

Can I bring Alcohol with my Picnic?

Racegoers are not permitted to bring Alcohol into any of the racecourse enclosures.

Concert Times for Newmarket Nights.

A Newmarket Night concert starts approx 15 - 20 minutes after the last race of the evening and last approx 60 - 90 minutes.

Can I bring my dog to the races?

For safety reasons, only guide dogs are allowed into the racecourse enclosures on race days. On the Countryside Family Fun Day, Sunday 25th May, dogs involved in the displays are granted access for this one day.

Please do not leave dogs unattended in vehicles in the racecourse car parks at any time.
