Star Fillies of the Future on show at Newmarket tomorrow?
The Get Your 0800 Number From Poptelecom.co.uk EBF Fillies' Maiden (6.30pm) is traditionally one of the strongest two-year-old fillies' maidens run at Newmarket throughout the season with recent winners and participants including the 2003 1000 Guineas winner Russian Rhythm, and 2007 Oaks scorer Light Shift.
Last year's first and second Discourse and Gamilati, both went on to Group race success at Newmarket later in the season.
This year's renewal, which takes place tomorrow (Friday, June 29) over six furlongs, has attracted a number of well-related fillies and none more so than the John Dunlop-trained Invincible Cara.
The daughter of Invincible Spirit is a half-sister to dual Group Three winner and Group One Racing Post Trophy runner-up Elusive Pimpernel, who won first time out on the July Course, as well as Group Three Strensall Stakes scorer Palavicini.
Marcus Hosgood, racing secretary to John Dunlop, said: "We are hoping Invincible Cara can run a nice race first time out, but we haven't got any huge expectations.
"She has been going nicely at home, but as you know, the trainer (John Dunlop) doesn't overdo his juveniles, especially first time.
"It would be hard to say if she will better at three. She is by Invincible Spirit and both Palavicini and Elusive Pimpernel won as two-year-olds - she is a nice filly - and we are just hoping for a nice run."
There is a seven-race programme at Newmarket tomorrow evening, with the first race at 5.55pm, while Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons perform afterwards. Newmarket also races in the afternoon on Saturday, June 30, when the highlight is the £55,000 Group Three John Sunley Memorial Criterion Stakes.
