East of England Festival of Food & Drink

Thursday 30th September - Saturday 2nd October

The East of England Festival of Food & Drink, which was staged for the first time in 2009, promises to bring to the Rowley Mile during the 2010 Cambridgeshire Meeting a mouthwatering selection of products made by companies based in the East of England.

Around 20 trade stands will be sampling and selling a wide range of delicious local fare, from gourmet chocolates to tantalising pastries, top quality seafood to sumptuous pies, and wonderful homemade breads to the very best olive oils.

The Festival is being staged in association with Adnams and in partnership with La Hogue Farm Shop & Delicatessen and Tastes of Anglia.

The great news is that you can come along and enjoy it - and the world class horse racing - for FREE!  The Festival will take place in the Rowley Enclosure, which offers a great view of the track from its position about a furlong from the winning line.  The admission charge is being waived for these three days.

Any racegoer in the Premier and Grandstand & Paddock Enclosures who wishes to visit the Food & Drink Festival will have easy access to the Rowley Enclosure.

Cambridgeshire Meeting racegoers will be able to sample many of these wonderful delights and buy produce to take away at the end of the day.

“Everything that can be done to promote the consumption of local produce has to be a positive step in protecting our environment and I hope that over time we can build this festival into an important regional event in its own right,” said Stephen Wallis, Managing Director of Newmarket Racecourses.
