As Title Sponsor, Emirates remains committed to supporting horseracing in the United Kingdom and around the world. The Dubai-based global airline is also title sponsor of the world’s richest race, the Dubai World Cup and the Emirates Melbourne Cup in Australia. In 1987, two years after its inception, Emirates launched flights to London Gatwick from Dubai. The airline has since added four routes to the network, increasing its non-stop, weekly return UK flights to 98. Five daily services operate from London Heathrow, while three leave London Gatwick each day. Meanwhile, the airline also operates two daily flights from Manchester and Birmingham, and daily services from Newcastle and Glasgow.
