Newmarket Town Plate

Founded in 1664 (or 1665, accounts vary) by King Charles II, the Newmarket Town Plate was the first race of its kind to be staged under written rules.
It is contested on the Round Course, used only once a year for this event, over 3 miles 6 furlongs and finishing at the July Course winning post.
If you are downloading an application form, please bear in mind you MUST include the following when sending your application:
- Entry Page 1, completed and signed.
- Entry page 2, (Rider's Certificate) completed and signed.
- Entry Page 3, (horse certificate) completed and signed.
- A copy of the horse passport, including the innoculation page(s).
- A headshot of rider, passport sized to go in the racecard on the day.
- Please also note that horse passports should also be brought on the day for inspection by the Duty Veterinary Officer.
