Top class entry for Nayef Joel Stakes

A total of 41 entries have been received for the £100,000 Group Two Nayef Joel Stakes, run at Newmarket over a mile on Friday, September 28, 2012, day two of the Cambridgeshire Meeting.

The entries are headed by Godolphin's Farhh, who has chased home Frankel on his past two starts, in the QIPCO Sussex Stakes on August 1 and the Juddmonte International on August 22, both Group Ones.

Brian Meehan could run Group One St James's Palace Stakes hero Most Improved and Archbishop, who finished second to Master Of Hounds in the Group Two International Topaki Trophy on Sunday.

Newmarket handler Chris Wall may saddle stable star Premio Loco after he gained the biggest success of his career when winning the Group Two Celebration Mile at Goodwood on August 24.

Tullius has been given an entry by trainer Andrew Balding after his success in the Group Three Sovereign Stakes at Salisbury on August 16.

Balding said: "We are looking at the Nayef Joel Stakes for Tullius and he has been very well since his win at Salisbury.

"He is a nice horse and the form of his Sovereign Stakes win has been franked. I have been very happy with his progress this season and he deserves a crack at a race like this.

"He has got a very good attitude and he keeps pulling it out. He has a strange head carriage but it doesn't seem to stop him going forward and digging deep."

Other notable entries include Roger Varian's talented Aljamaaheer, and Afsare, who finished second in the Grade One Arlington Million Stakes on August 18.

The Nayef Joel Stakes is part of the QIPCO British Champion Series
