Tickle Your Funny Bone At The Newmarket Festival This Year

Friday the 13th is a date often considered to be bad luck – but that’s not the case at the Newmarket Festival!

On Friday 13th July, get set for a laugh a minute at the Newmarket Festival Comedy Night, as four of the country’s most renowned comedians visit the King Edward VII Memorial Hall in Newmarket to make sure Friday the 13th is an evening to remember – but for all the right reasons.

Kicking off at 7pm for an 8pm start, the Comedy Night will be compared by the award-winning Andre Vincent. Supporting comedians include the critically acclaimed Matthew Osbourn, a previous winner of the So You Think You’re Funny competition, and the achingly hip Joel Dommett, who won the Stand Up and Coming award in 2008.

The event will be headlined by acclaimed comedian Sean Hughes. The youngest ever winner of the prestigious Perrier Award in 1990 and a previous panel member on the hit BBC2 show Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Sean will be bringing his Irish charm and witty observations to the Comedy Night, to round off an evening of non-stop laughs.

All proceeds raised from the Comedy Night are invested in the Newmarket Festival fund, which is used to benefit various local causes. Last year, the Festival raised almost £7,000, some of which was donated to causes including Newmarket Primary School PTA and Suffolk Young Carers, amongst others.

Tickets for the Comedy Night cost £18 each and are available from the Newmarket Customer Information Centre: 63 The Guineas, Newmarket CB8 8HT, or telephone: 01638 719749.
