Blue Square to sponsor at Craven
Newmarket Racecourses is delighted to announce that Blue Square will be sponsoring four races on Wednesday 14th April, the opening day of the Craven Meeting at the Rowley Mile racecourse.
The well-known bookmaker is supporting two Listed races on the card: the Bluesquare.com European Free Handicap, considered a 2000 Guineas trial, and the Blue Square Feilden Stakes, which often produces a classy winner such as Campanologist in 2008.
Blue Square will also sponsor the very competitive six-furlong handicap for three-year-olds and the mile and a quarter maiden.
Newmarket Racecourses’ Managing Director Stephen Wallis said: “We are very pleased to once again be welcoming Blue Square to Newmarket and very grateful for their continued support.
“Last year they very generously sponsored two races at our July Festival, including the Princess Of Wales’s Blue Square Stakes which produced an excellent winner in Doctor Fremantle.
“It is great news for us that Blue Square have committed to sponsoring four races on the opening day of our season at Newmarket and we very much looking forward to greeting them and their guests on Wednesday 14th April.”
Alan Alger, PR Manager for Blue Square commented “We’re delighted to be sponsoring at Newmarket on the opening day of The Craven Meeting.
“To many race fans this day is the start to the flat season proper and we look forward to some high quality action in our four races.”
