Best happy with Inler
INLER, a leading contender for the StanJames.com 2000 Guineas, looked in fine form this afternoon as he worked over 7f on the Rowley Mile.
The son of Red Ransom, a 16/1 chance with the sponsors for the colts’ Classic, showed a sharp turn of foot to draw clear of his two work companions under Tony Culhane.
Trainer John Best said: “I thought it was good. The horse did everything right and beat the other two easily.
“That’s just what he needed and hopefully should put him spot on. He handled the experience well and mentally was absolutely great.
“The two he worked with were no mugs and he went by them on the bridle. Tony felt that he was a little ring rusty so this should bring him on and we may well take him somewhere esle next weekend.”
Best was also pleased with Elspeth’s Boy who worked along side Inler and who is also under consideration for the StanJames.com 2000 Guineas.
The son of Tiznow won his only start at Wolverhampton last season and Best his hopeful that he will be joining his stablemate on May 1.
