Adnams Festival of Food and Drink at Newmarket

Two of the East of England’s iconic brands, Adnams and Newmarket Racecourses, have signed a three-year partnership agreement to develop an exciting range of events. The programme includes the launch of a brand new regional food & drink festival during the Cambridgeshire Meeting on the Rowley Mile Racecourse from Thursday 1st to Saturday 3rd October.

Adnams beer will be sold in selected bars on all of Newmarket’s 38 annual racedays, while Adnams’ customers will be given the opportunity to enjoy a day at the Home of Racing through a number of special offers during the season.

Thanks to permanent branding on both Newmarket’s racecourses, Adnams will have a presence throughout the year including at all the events that take place on non-racedays at the Rowley Mile’s Conference & Exhibition centre.

The Food & Drink festival featuring local producers from the East Anglian region will run alongside one of Europe’s highest profile race meetings which starts on Thursday 1st October, and climaxes with Britain’s most valuable raceday and the running of the totesport.com Cambridgeshire Handicap on Saturday 3rd October.

“This is a very exciting partnership between two synerginistic organisations who are proud of their East of England heritage and location and who share a common vision to provide the highest levels of quality, service and value for their customers,” said Stephen Wallis, Managing Director of Newmarket Racecourses.

“The Food and Drink festival has tremendous potential, not least because we are both committed to protecting our environment. Everything that can be done to promote the consumption of local produce has to be a positive step and I hope that over time we can build it into an important regional event in its own right.”

Adnams sales director Rob Flanagan said: “We’re delighted that race-goers will be able to enjoy a pint of Adnams while they watch all the action unfold and are looking forward to working in partnership with Newmarket Racecourses on some exciting new projects.”
