Hughes at the double

RICHARD Hughes completed a double on the card when springing a 33/1 shock in the feature Somerville Tattersall Stakes on the outsider Sir Parky.

Hughes is a master when allowed to dictate from the front and he didn’t disappoint in the 7f Group 3, allowing the Richard Hannon-trained colt to bowl from the stalls.

The Choisir colt hung all the way across to the far side rail but still had half a length in hand at the line from Sebastian Flyte with Mata Keranjang in third.

Hughes had earlier ridden Rum King to victory - again for Hannon - in the Weatherbys Maiden Stakes.

Full report to follow on Raceday Round-Up at the conclusion of this afternoon’s action.
