Why Rae’s serious about his filly with ‘Attitude’

Serious Attitude - serious ability

RAE Guest is looking forward to seeing if his Serious Attitude can make the step up from Group 1 star to Classic heroine.

The Mtoto filly, who was today announced in the entry for the Stan James 1000 Guineas, is reported by her trainer to be in good order ahead of her spring campaign.

All roads lead to the Rowley Mile on Sunday May 3 for Serious Attitude, who won the Cheveley Park Stakes at the venue last October.

Guest said: ““We are optimistic and believe she has got a great chance.

“We turned her out two or three weeks after the Cheveley Park at Pantile Stud. She went there until the beginning of January and did fantastic. She really enjoyed herself and came back looking big and strong.

“We are not planning to go for a trial. The Guineas is early enough, so we wouldn’t want to push her to a trial. What we might do is give her a (racecourse) gallop on Craven day.”

Everything is set for a battle of the big guns on May 3 as Serious Attitude will have to vanquish Rainbow Views, similarly unbeaten and also a Group 1 winner after landing the Fillies’ Mile on her final start of 2008.

Her trainer John Gosden said: “Rainbow View has wintered well. The plan is to have a racecourse gallop during the Craven meeting and then go straight to the Stan James 1000 Guineas.”

Trainer Jim Bolger’s Cuis Ghaire – a Group 3 winner at Royal Ascot - can’t be ruled out, either.

Bolger said: “Cuis Ghaire is very well currently and is on target for Newmarket.”
