Treble Jig so stylish

THERE looked to be some exciting juveniles on show at the July Course this afternoon with a number taking the eye both in the paddock and on the track.
Treble Jig looks one of these following his good success in the second division of the Protectas Health Stem Cell EBF maiden.
The son of Gone West got up late home to land the spoils ahead of Suited And Booted and still looked to have a fair bit up his sleeve.
Ryan Moore, who was on board the 5/6 favourite, raced prominently on the far-side before striking late on to win by a length and three quarters.
Winning trainer Sir Michael Stoute said: “His first race did him a lot of good so it was pleasing to see him win.
“We don’t have any plans for him as he is a big unfurnished horse who should make into a nice three-year old. We’ll probably give him only one more run this season.”
Ameer got his career off to the best possible start when landing the first division of the Health Stem Cell EBF maiden in the hands of Ted Durcan.
Godolphin’s son of Monsun looks one to follow after getting the better of odds-on favourite, Awesome Again for a head victory.
Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford said: “This was very pleasing. He showed a good attitude and stayed the trip well. There are no plans for him but he’s sure to improve for the experience.”
Whippers Love looked the business in the paddock and duly obliged in good style on the track to land the Breheny Nursery handicap under Richard Hills.
The Mark Johnston- trained colt tracked the leader before putting the race to bed in a matter of strides at the furlong marker and stayed on well up the incline to score by a length.
Rose Beattie, representing the trainer said: “He was one of our earlier runners and has improved with racing. He got the mile well and is a nice prospect.”
Pollenator took the opening division of the Striking Ambition TFR 122 EBF maiden for trainer Richard Hannon and jockey Richard Hughes.
The daughter of Motivator, an 11-2 chance, ran on strongly to land the spoils by three and a quarter lengths and she looks the type to progress further in time.
Alison Begley, representing the winning owners, The Royal Ascot Racing Club said: “She is the second very nice two-year old by Motivator to win for the Royal Ascot Racing Club.
“She was just pipped last time out and had a Listed winner behind in third. She’ll improve again with a step up to a mile and should be a good prospect for next year.”
Paleo completed a double for Hannon and Hughes in the second division of the Striking Ambition TFR 122 EBF maiden at odds of 20/1.
The daughter of Indian Ridge just got the better of Pink Symphony in the dying strides of the contest after a close duel which saw the pair draw three lengths clear of the third.
There was a thrilling finish to the sip-plc.com Ideas, Advice and Capital handicap with Recession Proof getting up in the dying strides to force a dead-heat with Merchant of Dubai.
Simon Callaghan, trainer of Recession Proof said: “He showed that he definitely stayed today. He’s got plenty of stamina on the dam side and now this gives us more options.
“Hopefully he can continue to progress and may make into a Cup horse next season.”
There was another close finish to the Striking Ambition First Crop Yearlings with Brunelleschi getting up in the shadow of the post to land the spoils for trainer Pat Gilligan and jockey Josephine Bruning.
This was the six-year old’s ninth career success, four of them coming with Bruning in the plate.
Fajita gave jockey Ryan Moore a double on the card when he took the Bishop’s Stortford Football Club claimer for his father trainer Gary Moore.
It’s the last opportunity to visit the July Course in 2009 tomorrow with the first race scheduled for in 13:50.
