More joy for Wall team

TRAINER Chris Wall looks to have another progressive three-year old filly on his hands in Bounty Box who took the Skybet.com For All Your Football Betting handicap in game fashion.

The Newmarket-based handler also saddled Pyrrha to an emphatic success on the July Course yesterday evening and both fillies look set for bigger targets now.

Bounty Box was sent off the 11-4 favourite for today’s contest following her course and distance win a month ago.

She coped with the step up in class well and battled to a game neck success over Sea of Leaves.

Wall said of the daughter of Bohemian Bounty: “This race has been the plan since she last won here.

“She did it well and is progressing nicely, if all goes to plan she could be one for the Boadicea Stakes on the Rowley Mile this autumn.”

The Win £100,000 With Soccer Saturday Super 6 handicap for grey horses is always a unique spectacle with no less than 17 greys competing for the lion’s share of £20,000.

The Stef Liddiard-trained Sarah’s Art put up a smart performance to land the spoils by half a length in the hands of Jim Crowley.

Liddiard who led up the son of City on A Hill herself said: “I’ve been second in this twice so it’s fantastic to win.

“We’ve had this race in mind for this horse all year so we’ve trained him especially for it. He had a break after the all-weather and then just had a pipe-opener at Windsor last week.”

Crowley completed a 39-1 double when Times Up survived interference to get up in the newmarketracecourses.co.uk handicap.

The John Dunlop-trained son of Olden Times was taken across the track by the runner-up Alcalde from over 1f out but when switched by Crowley ran on well to get up in the shadow of the post.

Arabian Pride got off the mark in game style in the EBF Buy A Racing Post Yearling Bonus Candidate for jockey Joe Fanning and trainer David Simcock.

The son of Cadeaux Generaux, a 7-1 chance, was able to dictate matters from the front and stayed on strongly up the hill to score by half a length.

A delighted Simcock said: “He has disappointed us a little and this win had taken a long time to come.

“But he is a handy horse who finds a lot, it’s great to see him win.”

This colt could return to Newmarket for a tilt at the Tattersalls Timeform Million on the Rowley Mile in October.

Negotiation was produced late by jockey Robert Havlin to land the spoils in the skysports.com/Super 6 Free to Enter handicap.

The field was led along by favourite Suba until The Bushes when Russian Jar took over the running. Havlin was applying hard pressure to his mount over 2f out but she responded well to claw in the leader, getting up by a neck.

Mister Hughie looks to be a juvenile on the upgrade when scoring in the Oh No Richard O’Neill’s Getting Hitched Nursery for jockey Tony Culhane and trainer Mick Channon.

The son of Elusive City, an 8-1 shot, showed a good turn of foot to put the race to bed in a matter of strides and went on to win decisively by two lengths.

The finale on the card, the Chris Wotton Cup was won by Lord Theo for trainer Nick Littmoden and completed a double for jockey Robert Havlin.
