Lashes lands Group 3 feature

LONG LASHES looks to be a filly with a big future after making it two wins from two starts in the Group 3 skybet.com Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket today.

The daughter of Rock Hard Ten was purchased by the Goldophin operation following her winning debut in a Listed race at The Curragh for trainer Jessica Harrington.

She appears a shrewd buy and showed a game attitude when winning by a length under jockey Ted Durcan.

He settled the 2/1 chance just off the pace and she travelled smoothly. When he pushed the button she quickened up well and galloped strongly to the line, repelling the late charge of 66-1 shot, Blue Maiden.

Durcan said: “She’s a long striding filly who settles well. She lengthened well and I think left a little up her sleeve.”

She now looks set for bigger things as plans include a tilt at the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes back at The Curragh.
