The Boyz are back in town
The group’s performance last year at Newmarket was a massive hit, entertaining the crowd with ‘on the ball’ dance routines and their greatest hits. Band member, Ronan Keating has also just returned from climbing Mount Kilimanjaro for Red Nose Day and his album ‘Songs For My Mother’ has shot to the top of the UK album chart.
The five original members – Ronan Keating, Stephen Gately, Shane Lynch, Mikey Graham and Keith Duffy re-launched their career in 2007 on the back of performing for Children In Need and have not looked back since by releasing songs such as ‘Better’ and ‘Love You Anyway’ and their Greatest Hits album – ‘Back Again… No Matter What.’
With their huge following, the group has achieved 16 consecutive top 5 hits, 6 UK number one singles and 4 number one albums. Their total album sales exceeds 15 million.
Racecourse Managing Director Stephen Wallis said “I am thrilled to be welcoming Boyzone back to Newmarket. Their performance last year was amazing and I am sure that they will put on an another dazzling show to wow this year’s Newmarket Nights crowd”
“We have now announced 6 out of the 7 acts for 2009 and hope to confirm the one remaining slot in the next few days.”
The event promises to be a night to remember and combines all the fun of the races with the exhilaration of an open air, live concert.
