‘Fiery’ filly Rainbow preparing for D-Day

JOHN GOSDEN today indicated that stanjames.com 1000 Guineas favourite Rainbow View is coming along well ahead of her big-race engagement at Newmarket on Sunday, May 3.

The Newmarket-based trainer will give the unbeaten daughter of Dynaformer a racecourse gallop during the Craven meeting as he fine-tunes her ahead of D-Day.

Rainbow View, with victories at Group 3, 2 and 1 already on her impressive CV, is becoming as famous as for her temperament as her undoubted ability.

And Gosden revealed that the 15/8 favourite with Stan James is still as much a character as ever.

He said: “Rainbow View is in very good form. She is coming nicely in her coat, she’s bouncing and very happy.

“I would be happy with her physical progression - mentally she’s just as wild as ever. Of all the fillies I’ve trained, she’s a long way the wildest.

“She will have trained on - I’ve no doubt at all - ability-wise. Mentally, she is tough to deal with.

“I plan to bring her down to Newmarket on Wednesday or Thursday and let her breeze up the track. It would take something funny to be happening with the weather for us not to be there.”
