PAUL Cole is expecting to be double-handed in this Saturday’s Darley Dewhurst Stakes after supplementing Moynahan at the five-day entry stage.

The Whatcombe-based trainer already had Coventry Stakes third and Goffs Million winner Luck Money in the prestigious seven-furlong race on the NatWest Rowley Mile.

The Indian Ridge colt is now set to be joined by stable-mate Moynahan - an impressive two-and-a-half length winner of the Convivial maiden at York in August - after connections today paid £15,000 to supplement the son of Johannesburg.

That was Moynahan’s second career start and he is now poised to be pitched in at the deep end against the like of New Approach, Rio De La Plata and Raven’s Pass, who all stood their ground for the Group 1 event.

Cole said: “They will have a pipe-opener on Tuesday and if all is satisfactory, both of them will take their chance.

“It is a bit of a step up in class for Moynahan but he quickened up well at York and has been working well at home.

“Both he and Luck Money are in good form. Luck Money has come out very well from his race in Ireland. I am hoping for good ground.”

Fourteen horses go on to Thursday’s 48-hour declaration stage with Ballydoyle trainer Aidan O’Brien having left four in.

There are currently also 14 horses in the Emirates Airline Champion Stakes. Both Creachadoir and Doctor Dino were supplemented at a cost of £24,000 on Monday morning.
