Arch Swing’s 1000 Guineas bid in balance

ARCH SWING has been rated as a 50-50 chance to take her place in the Stan James 1000 Guineas at Newmarket on May 5.

Trainer John Oxx today outlined that the unbeaten daughter of Arch was found to have a temperature a few weeks ago.

He said: “Early last week there was little enough chance of her making it but she has progressed well and, while its still a case of one day at a time, there is now at least a 50-50 chance of her running at Newmarket.”

Arch Swing, 16-1 with the sponsors for the fillies’ classic, is likely to undertake some faster work in the near future, according to Oxx.

“When that happens we’ll know what the score is,” said Oxx, who was speaking to the Racing Post.
