Thursday 14th January, 2010
Newmarket Racecourse is delighted to announce award winning singer- songwriter James Morrison will be performing live after evening racing at Newmarket Nights on Friday 30th July 2010.
With his raw bluesy style of music, the spectacular concert is expected to draw huge crowds to the Home of British Horse Racing and will feature hits from James Morrison’s two platinum selling albums, Undiscovered and Songs For You, Truths For Me.
Released in 2006, Undiscovered yielded no fewer than five singles including You Give Me Something, Wonderful World and The Pieces Don’t Fit Anymore.
The album went to No 1 in Britain, Top 25 in America, won him the 2007 Brit Award for Best Male and sold over two million copies worldwide. At the tender age of just 21, James became the biggest selling British male solo artist of 2006.
The second album, Songs for You, Truths for Mewas released in September 2008 and featured Broken Strings, a fantastic duet with Nelly Furtado.
Stephen Wallis, Newmarket Racecourses Managing Director said: “We are really excited to be announcing another act for the 2010 Newmarket Nights series. James Morrison is a great talent and I am sure that he will be very popular with the Newmarket Nights crowd.”
