Rainbow View - joint favourite for Classic glory in 2009

RAINBOW View landed the Group 3 skybet.com Sweet Solera Stakes in devastating style for Newmarket trainer John Gosden and jockey Jimmy Fortune.

Having previously won her maiden by six lengths at The July Course, the daughter of Dynaformer was sent off the 6/4 favourite for the 7f contest.

She travelled well towards the rear of the field before being switched to the near side and starting her concerted challenge inside the final two furlongs.

When asked to go and win the race she showed an impressive turn of foot, going away to score by six lengths.

This victory in Group 3 company has shot her to the front of next year’s Stan James 1000 Guineas market where she is 6/1 joint-favourite with the sponsors

Gosden said: “That was a good performance. She has class and speed. We’ll go for the May Hill Stakes at Doncaster which is a Group 2 so she won’t receive a penalty.

“She has won on soft and good to firm so we don’t have any ground concerns. The step up to a mile should also be okay as Jimmy thinks she needed further today.

“We’ll go step by step but if all goes to plan she could line up in the Fillies' Mile at Ascot.”
