Bryan Adams performs to a sell-out crowd

Newmarket Racecourses opened its 2008 Newmarket Nights series with one of the best performances the July Course has ever seen. International superstar, Bryan Adams performed some of his most popular hits, from his 28 year-long career, to a sell-out crowd of 22,000 race goers.
Managing Director, Stephen Wallis said, “It really was an amazing Newmarket Night with a spectacular performance from Bryan Adams.” He continued, “The crowd thoroughly enjoyed Bryan’s performance and we look forward to welcoming them back to Newmarket Nights again for some of the other great artists we have for this year’s line-up including The Feeling, Madness and Boyzone.”
A Best Dressed Male Competition sponsored by Menswear store, Six Whiting Street, also made its debut at Newmarket Nights on Friday. Six Whiting Street located in Bury St Edmunds has clothing collections that range from expertly tailored formal wear through to designer labels and chic casual brands including Nudie Jeans, Y-3, Margaret Howell, Duchamp and Six Whiting Street’s own label ‘Giles Emily’, together some iconic brands such as Paul Smith and Hugo Boss. There is also an emphasis on tailoring, which of course includes made-to-measure services.

Tim Sutherland was announced as Friday’s Best Dressed Male and he received a £200 voucher to spend in store. A winner will be chosen at each of the remaining six Newmarket Nights, each receiving a £200 voucher and an invitation to come back and join Tim, for the Grand Final on Friday 15th August, where the Grand Prize will be a £500 voucher to spend in store at
For this week, Newmarket looks forward to welcoming back Newmarket Nights favourite Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra featuring Gilson Lavis with special guests Ruby Turner, Louise Marshall and Marc Almond. This year marks the 12th consecutive year of Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra performing at Newmarket Nights and is sure to be another entertaining evening.
