Big Noise seeking fresh success at Newmarket

BIG NOISE will seek to further enhance his reputation as a rising sprint star when he makes his seasonal debut in the Re-offer.com 1st June Breeze-Up Handicap this Friday at Newmarket.

The NatWest Rowley Mile stages a three-day fixture and Big Noise will bid to grab the headlines on the opening card with victory in the £12,000 seven-furlong event.

Dr Jon Scargill’s charge proved progressive last term, winning three of his five starts. Two of his wins – one over 6f and the other at 7f – came at Newmarket’s July Course and connections will be hoping the four-year-old is just as effective on Newmarket’s other track.

He faces eight rivals – two of whom are already course and distance winners – but is likely to go off as the favourite in the 4.05pm.

Hamilton Road-based trainer Scargill said: “Big Noise is fine and has had a good winter. The trip and ground are fine and he is ready to start off his season.”

Friday sees a seven-race card with the other highlight likely to be provided by the 1m 4f Buy Horses at Re-offer.com Handicap.

This year’s Punchestown Champion Hurdle hero Punjabi returns to the Flat and will clash with improving type Mad Rush.

The first race is due off at 2.20pm and gates open at 11.50am.
