Infallible - seeking to build on Leslie Harrison Memorial Nell Gwyn Stakes win in the stanjamesuk.com 1000 Guineas
JUST AS there will be 15 in tomorrow’s star-studded stanjamesuk.com 2000 Guineas, so there will be the same number of runners in Sunday’s stanjamesuk.com 1000 Guineas on Sunday.
At the declaration stage this morning, all the market principals – Natagora, Infallible, Muthabara and Spacious – stood their ground.
But there is a slight fitness scare surrounding the John Dunlop-trained Muthabara, who sustained a setback on Friday.
"Mr Dunlop said she just pulled up a little bit sore at the top of the canter,” reported Angus Gold, racing manager to the filly’s owner Sheikh Hamdan. Al Maktoum.
Jim Bolger will be double-handed in his quest for a second successive stanjamesuk.com 1000 Guineas winner. Seeking to follow in the footsteps of Finsceal Beo will be Saoirse Abu and Lush Lashes.
Fellow Irish handler Aidan O’Brien will also have two runners in the shape of Kitty Matcham and Savethisdanceforme.
Barry Hills is another trainer with two to call on – Royal Confidence and Spinning Lucy.
The rest of the field will be comprised of Laureldean Gale, Francesca D’Gorgio, Lady Deauville, Max One Two Three and Nahoodh.”
Meanwhile, there will be a top-quality field for the stanjamesuk.com Jockey Club Stakes, also scheduled for Sunday.
Andre Fabre’s French raider Getaway, last year’s winner Sixties Icon and the progressive Galactic Star are among the 10-strong field.
