SIXTIES ICON is on target to defend his stanjamesuk.com Jockey Club Stakes crown after pleasing in a work-out on The NatWest Rowley Mile.
Frankie Dettori was on board as the 2006 St Leger hero enjoyed an extended six-furlong spin with a lead horse last Wednesday.
Trainer Jeremy Noseda says the five-year-old horse has taken his work-out well and the plan is to line up once more for the Group 2 on Sunday May 4.
He said: “I was more than satisfied with Sixties Icon’s work. It was a nice easy piece and he was relaxed, did everything right.
“He has come out of it well and is on schedule for the Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket on Sunday May 4 when, hopefully, Frankie will be able to renew his (competitive) association with the horse.”
