INFALLIBLE PRODUCED a brilliant stanjamesuk.com 1000 Guineas trial when she stormed to victory in the Leslie Harrison Memorial Nell Gwyn Stakes today.

The daughter of Pivotal came from last to first to strike by three-and-half lengths under jockey Jimmy Fortune from the brave Kylayne.

Stan James wasted no time in reacting, immediately cutting her to 5/1 from 16s for the fillies’ Classic which will be staged back at The NatWest Rowley Mile on Sunday May 4.

Natagora remains the 4/1 favourite but Infallible’s trainer John Gosden is looking forward to having a shot at her.

After this afternoon’s 7-2 triumph, Gosden said: “You’d have to be damn good to take on that grey French filly but Infallible will be give her a race, although having had only two runs is not very experienced to go to a Guineas.

“The plan was to drop her in today but not to get left! But they weren’t going a great pace and Jimmy knew he had a lot of horse beneath him.

“She is a very fine filly - strong. Her work has been consistently pleasing this spring.”

Festivale ran a solid race to finish third but the day belonged to Infallible who looked as if she possessed that ’wow’ factor with a thrilling turn of foot.
