Multi and Creachadoir teams happy ahead of Saturday test

CREACHADOIR completed his preparations for this Saturday's Emirates Airline Champion Stakes with a satisfactory tune-up on the Newmarket gallops on Tuesday morning.

The King's Best colt has been supplemented at a cost of £24,000 for one of the few domestic Groups 1s to have eluded the powerful Godolphin team.

This weekend will see him stepping back up in trip to 1m 2f after an impressive three-length win in the Countryside Steel and Tubes Joel Stakes on October 6.

Connections reported that his latest piece of fast work went without a hitch and they have their fingers crossed for a bold show in the £350,000 showpiece on Champions' Day.

Trainer Saeed bin Suroor said: "Creachadoir worked well over five furlongs. He is ready to go and we are really happy with him. He is in good form. I hope he will run a big race."

Fellow Newmarket-based handler Henry Cecil has his eyes on a third Champion Stakes' win as he hopes Multidimensional can follow in the hoof-prints of Indian Skimmer and Bosra Sham.

The Danehill colt has won four of his five career starts, including a Newbury victory last month on his comeback from a pelvic injury.

Cecil said: "like the horse but he is one who would undoubtedly be better without an interrupted programme. Hopefully he will run very well. Ideally I'd like some give in the ground for him.”
