Simply Perfect set for Saturday's Kingdom Of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes

JEREMY NOSEDA has confirmed that he plans to be represented in both of this week’s fillies’ Group 1 races at Newmarket.

The locally-based trainer will run Fleeting Spirit in Friday’s Cheveley Park Stakes, while Simply Perfect will take up the baton in the Kingdom Of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes the following afternoon.

Noseda revealed his intentions today with perhaps the most intriguing news being that two-year-old speedster Fleeting Spirit heads to the Nat West Rowley Mile course, rather than France.

After the daughter of Invincible Spirit raced to glory in the Flying Childers at Doncaster, a crack at the Prix de l’Abbaye was mooted.

But the soft ground conditions at Lonchamp swayed her connections into having a shot at the six-furlong contest on home soil.

The step back up in trip to doesn’t at all concern Noseda, despite his charge suffering her only defeat in four starts over six furlongs in the Lowther Stakes at York.

He said: “We have made a decision to go to the Cheveley Park due to the unlikelihood of fast ground at Longchamp and also the draw coming into the equation.

“We will have a tilt at the Cheveley Park and Frankie Dettori will ride her. She ran well in the Lowther but things didn’t exactly go to plan. We do believe that she has a realistic chance of getting six furlongs.”

Noseda will be hoping that Simply Perfect can show the brilliance that won her the Falmouth Stakes on the July Course earlier in the summer.

She subsequently ran a fine race to finish third in the Prix D’Astarte before being given a couple of months off the track.

Her preparations for a return to action have gone smoothly and Noseda is looking forward to her having a shot at the Group 1 over the Rowley Mile on Saturday.

He said: “Simply Perfect will head to the Sun Chariot and Johnny Murtagh takes the ride on her.

“I am delighted with the filly. She has had a little break since running in Deauville and we’ve freshened her up for an autumn campaign.

“She is in great order and will give a good account of herself. The ground should be perfect for her.”
