Visit given green light for Cheveley Park
Wednesday 26th September, 2007

Princess Margaret Stakes winner Visit will seek to enhance her 1000 Guineas credentials in October 5's Cheveley Park Stakes.
VISIT has been given the go-ahead for a tilt at the Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket on Friday, October 5.
Lord Grimthorpe, racing manager to Visit’s owner Khalid Abdulla, today outlined that the fillies’ Group 1 on the Rowley Mile is the target.
The daughter of Oasis Dream shot to prominence in the betting for next year’s Stan James 1000 Guineas with her Group 3 success in the Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot in July.
She subsequently came out and finished a close-up second to Nahoodh in the Lowther Stakes but was running on well at the end.
The Sir Michael Stoute-trained filly, a general 14-1 chance for the 1000 Guineas, has pleased connections since that engagement and is now set to take her chance in the prestigious £170,000 contest at racing’s headquarters.
Lord Grimthorpe said: “Visit has come on very well since her run at York. She is in good form and will take her place in the Cheveley Park Stakes.
“I really think the Rowley Mile will suit her well. It is a good, stiff six furlongs with an uphill finish. She worked last Saturday and went nicely.”
The three-day fixture commences on Thursday, October 4. Please contact the advance booking line on 01638 675 500 or click on the 'Buy Tickets' link.
