TRAINER Jim Bolger is optimistic that star colt Teofilo will line up in the Stan James 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on May 5.
The Galileo colt suffered a hiccup in his preparations at the start of last week but Bolger today indicated that his charge is on course to make the colt's classic.
Stan James's 11-4 favourite for the 2000 Guineas has been restricted to walking and swimming for the past week because of soreness at the back of his off fore knee - but this morning he trotted at Bolger's Co.Kilkenny base.
Bolger said: "He seems in very good form and moving very well. I'm totally satisfied and was totally satisfied before we had the hiccup that he was fit and ready to go.
"The only concern that I would have at this stage is that with a niggling injury we might get a recurrence or that it could be the start of something more serious. But apart from that I don't have any worries about him."
Bolger was speaking at a media morning in which he also exercised his Stan James 1000 Guineas favourite Finsceal Beo.
He said: "She has had no problems whatsoever - everything has gone very well with her."
