TOMORROW (Wednesday) sees the start of Newmarket's season with the first day of the Craven Meeting, but the runners in the afternoon's seven races will not be the only horses on the track - Sixties Icon, Simply Perfect and Authorized will all work before racing.

At 12.40pm the Peter Chapple-Hyam-trained Authorized, who is strongly fancied for the Vodafone Derby and is also entered for the Stan James 2000 Guineas, will work on the course under Frankie Dettori. At 1pm Jeremy Noseda will work last year's Ladbrokes St Leger winner, Sixties Icon, and one of his Stan James 1000 Guineas hopes, Simply Perfect. Again Frankie Dettori will be in the saddle on one of Noseda's charges.

In the afternoon's big race, the Shadwell Nell Gwyn Stakes, Noseda and Dettori will team up again when hot favourite Sander Camillo will make her seasonal reappearance, while Dettori and Chapple-Hyam will team up with Hamoody in the Sporting Index European Free Handicap.

The going on the NatWest Rowley Mile remains Good-to-Firm, with a going stick reading of 9.0. "We finished watering the track today with the aim of ensuring safe ground and now we are all set for a fantastic two days of racing," said Director of Racing, Michael Prosser.
